Comet Confirms Lib Dems are Main Opposition at Stevenage Council

In her Last Word column (Stevenage Comet, 3.6.2010 page 4) impartial reporter Louise McEvoy at last writes what we have known and said for at least 28 years - that it is the Liberal Democrat Group who consistently challenge, question and hold to account the huge Labour majority at Stevenage Borough Council.

It is certainly not the Conservative Group who, whilst currently larger, continue as they always have done - either to abstain or vote with Labour, and in any case to say absolutely nothing!

In this letter to the Comet, Liberal Democrat Group leader, Cllr. Robin Parker, amplifies some of the points the Comet has finally reported.
